There have been 3rd party attempts to make Macs if not multitouch than at least basically touch over the years, including the ModBook, which tore the notebook down and rebuilt it with a digitizer, and various touch-detection overlays for Macs used as kiosks in the hospitality industries.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) and later and MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) and later feature the Touch Bar, which changes automatically based on the application that you’re using to show you relevant, familiar tools and controls. On some models, the Esc button appears on the left side of the Touch Bar, in the same place the physical Esc key appears on traditional keyboards.
*Use the Touch Bar on Mac. If your Mac has a Touch Bar, you can use familiar gestures — like tap, swipe or slide — directly on the Touch Bar to adjust settings, use Siri, access function keys and do.
